In a distant village, there was a young man named Jack. Jack lived with his mother, and their only possession was a skinny cow that produced little milk. One day, his mother asked Jack to take the cow to the market to sell it, as they couldn't afford to feed it anymore.

On his way to the market, Jack met a man who asked, "Where are you going with that cow?" Jack explained that he was going to sell it as his mother had requested. The man offered to buy the cow in exchange for some magic beans that he claimed would make Jack rich. After some thought, Jack agreed to the deal. He took the man's red beans and returned home, puzzled about how these beans would bring him wealth.

When Jack arrived home, his mother asked, "Did you sell the cow, Jack?" He replied affirmatively. She inquired about the price, and Jack told her what had happened, showing her the beans. Angrily, she threw the beans out the window, upset that their last possession was gone for what seemed like nothing. Jack went to bed without dinner, feeling regretful.

The next morning, Jack noticed something unusual. Instead of the usual sunlight streaming into his room, he saw a huge plant outside his window. Amazed, he realized it was the magic beans. Deciding to embark on an adventure, Jack climbed the enormous plant, which took him to the top after a long climb.

At the top, Jack discovered a giant palace. He entered and was awestruck. Inside, he saw skeletons guarding a giant monster. Despite his fear, Jack continued his adventure. The giant was asleep when Jack arrived, but the skeletons' noise woke him up. Jack quickly hid behind a chair. The giant searched the palace but found nothing and eventually returned to sleep after eating. He placed a bag of gold coins on the table before dozing off. Seizing the opportunity, Jack grabbed the bag and returned home to his astonished mother, who was thrilled by their newfound wealth.

Encouraged by his success, Jack climbed the beanstalk again the next day. He quietly entered the palace and found the giant asleep once more. This time, the giant had a hen that laid golden eggs. Jack watched in amazement as the giant commanded the hen to lay a golden egg. After the giant fell asleep, Jack took the hen and hurried home. His mother was overjoyed, prompting Jack to decide on another trip to the giant's palace.

On his third visit, Jack found the giant awake, playing a magical harp. Jack loved the harp's sound and waited until the giant fell asleep to try and steal it. However, the harp cried out, "Save me, my lord, he is trying to steal me!" The giant woke up, furious, and chased Jack. Jack quickly climbed down the beanstalk with the giant in pursuit. Once he reached his garden, Jack grabbed a large axe and chopped the beanstalk down. The giant fell and died.

With the giant gone, Jack and his mother moved to a new house, bought a large farm with many cows, and lived happily ever after.
